our hens have always been with, well, just each other.  jordan calls them the feminist hens- so when a rooster arrived there were a lot of ruffled feathers and some ladies (well, just one really mean lady) trying to show the rooster who’s boss.  it was quite a display of feathers, but everyone is already getting along quite nicely.  jordan’s rooster, clyde, is the second rooster at rachel’s little farm and will be temporarily living with us.  one of our hens keeps sitting on her eggs (setting) so we figured, why not?  i’m excited to see what happens.
