today, we visited shannon at the farm.  it strengthened in me the desire to have one of my own.  what a morning it would be to awaken with the sun, sit on the porch to drink a strong cup of coffee (with the bugs as rejoicing music) and set out to make things grow and flourish.  the pigs wallow, chickens complain, and the weeds test every last once of perseverance that was planted in a farmers soul.  in my heart, the farmer is the giver of life and protector of god’s creation.  with each plant, you are giving life to a seed that without you would wither and perish.  perhaps this is why it pains and burdens my soul to thin my starts?  the farm was beautiful.  i am so very thankful.
